| I am looking for inexpensive accommodation, guest house, or apartment beginning of August for a couple of weeks. I am a woman (50's) traveling solo. Also would like to meet up with others to go snorkeling with and explore the island. |

Greetings, Were you successful in finding an expensive place to stay? I am looking for a place "on the beach" that has good snorkeling right there, but not expensive. Sort of an out of the way sort of place. Do you hve any suggestions?
Thanks..bob |

Hi Bob,
I ended up staying at Estoril Hotel in Otrobanda. It was the least expensive place I could find and it was a central location to town and to catch buses. They are often booked up because it is near the Hospital and locals stay there coming from Bonaire and Aruba. I did not rent a car so walked a lot and took buses. If you are looking for good snorkeling I found Bonaire to be much better and found cheaper & better accommodations there. There is not much to do there except for diving and snorkeling but I really found the snorkeling better and easier to get to in Bonaire. I hope this helps.

Thanks Randy,
I will check out this info soon. Another question if you don't mind.
I have been looking around for a month or so trying to find a small place on a beach to stay and snorkel. All that I am finding is apartments and estabilished hotels. Did you come across any guest houses or bungelows on the beach? Seems odd that there are no small places.
I have this romantic image of stepping out of my cottage in the morning, walking a few steps to a deserted beach and go for a morning snorkel. Than later in the day, park under a palm tree reading a book and going for the occasional swim. Do places where this can happen exist in Curacao?
Thanks...bob |

Thanks. These places seem a little to upscale for me. I do like the beach though.
