Review of Avila Beach Hotel

Right on the beach, this European-style hotel is a 5-minute walk from Willemstad.
Room amenities include cable/satellite television, a balcony with ocean views, coffee/tea maker, and minibar.
The hotel also offers two private beaches, spa services, restaurants, bars, and a business center.

Very nice up-scale resort. Beautiful landscaping, pool and two small beaches. Jazz twice a week in the
Blues restaurant was first class when we were there. The rooms in the octagon wing are very modern with
European styling. However the beds are VERY firm. There seem to be no bugs on the island and
accordingly no screens, so you can sleep all night with the door wide open. The hotel restaurants were quite
expensive and un-memorable. Better to eat elsewhere. Right across the street at Rosendaels the food,
service and value was terrific. Scampi's in Fort Amsterdam was also great. It is a 15 minute walk to
shopping in Punda. You would want to drive or take a taxi after dark. I would recommend this resort for
adults and families with young children. Teens looking for lots of activity would not be happy here. A resort
at Sea Aquarium beach would suite them better.
