Review of Avila Beach Hotel

Right on the beach, this European-style hotel is a 5-minute walk from Willemstad.
Room amenities include cable/satellite television, a balcony with ocean views, coffee/tea maker, and minibar.
The hotel also offers two private beaches, spa services, restaurants, bars, and a business center.

I stayed at the Avila beach Hotel the last week of March 2008. The service is mediocre, I was not able to see a worker with a happy face the whole time I stayed there. DO NOT expect a happy-face welcome!
Cable TV is very limited (10 channels, out of which 2 are local, 1 from Venezuela, and some of the others go off very frequently).
The rooms are nice and clean, but the lack of service makes this hotel an absolute no-choice for any traveler from the USA or for those used to nice / friendly customer service.
The hotel is very expensive for what you get. I have stayed in other hotels in the island where I found a much better service for the same or less money.
